I've
filled in the last 2
evenings helping watch my
daughter's children
while
she volunteer coaches the
high school girls'
basketball team
Aly is
3 and-a-half and Landon is
18 months
(Last
home games; next she has to
go to Regionals if it is not
on her work week)
Fri (Feb 29)
I
noticed a couple of bruises
on Aly's lower leg, one very
large.
She
made a comment that she
didn't want to go to the
hospital anymore like she
did last night.
She
said she was crying. She
said she was sick (That's
why you go to the hospital,
right?)
And she
said that she didn't like
her babysitter.
When I
shared about 'going to the
hospital'
my
daughter knew nothing about
it, and we thought maybe Aly
had been partly asleep &
dreaming
Sat (March 1)
I
noticed Aly was doing some
mean things to her brother I
had not noticed before:
'slapping him in the face'
while he was eating in his
high chair,
and
coming up behind him ready
to push him down.
Later, while I was holding
her on the couch,
she said that she
didn't like babysitters
because they were mean
But she
didn't elaborate, and I
didn't pry
Melissa
has had a new babysitter,
going on a second week now.
I told
her about someone named Amy
that the Christian nurse
highly recommended,
but I
don't think Melissa even
called.
I'm not
asking any questions, Aly
is just sharing with me 'out
of the blue'
But she
is not sharing with her
mother,
But her
mom asks a quick question
'on the fly'
not
inducive to sharing your
hurts
Also
last night Aly was acting
fearful about going to bed,
and I
haven't seen that in a very
long time
And she
wanted the room light on -
not just the small lamp
light
Could
you pray for this situation,
please?
If I
start to say more than I
have already to my daughter,
she
will dismiss it altogether &
go the opposite direction.
Aly
needs to share with her,
and
Melissa needs to be in the
mood to listen.
I think
Sun & Mon are baby sitter
days,
and she
has a week off on Tues,
so she
may be gone more if she goes
to out of town basketball
games then
