Down Syndrome .... Cerebral Palsy ...

Although it is thought to be a genetic problem - I suspect it could be a chemical poisoning by a teratogen chemical: Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether or similar chemical

I was interested (as many in our State will be) because of the Governor's 5th child having Down Syndrome. I had barely heard that she was pregnant, and had sent a couple of 'beware of the cleaning products you use in the Governor's Mansion, etc

There has been almost no research on Down Syndrome in the last 25 years. But I noticed that it was well documented that Down Syndrome children have more incidences of Celiac Disease & autoimmune thyroid. They talk about failure to thrive and growth delays, which could also be side effects of EGBE exposure.

So, could it be that it is NOT a genetic issue, but a chemical exposure that damages our child's genes?

So what is the incidence of DS in WWII vets' children? in Korean Vets' children? in Gulf War Vets' children? ... it is all the same chemical, in my opinion ... since I include that as a choice; it is the best match

We can help. Congress needs to ban this chemical for our health sake and for haulting global warming, too

I do think it is one of the things that must be autoimmune that this chemical exposure for a parent, or during pregnancy could cause in offspring.

These are my current thoughts on what 2-butoxyethanol should be suspect for

in my opinion

I am sure chemiocals have impact on our lives....and perhaps on our genes.
But DSis greatly researched ..and there is no proof of that impact.
I know about a family with 5 children..4siblings are normal..1 has DS.
HOW WOULD YOU ACCOUNT FOR HEALTHY OFFSPRING IF PARENTS ARE GENETICALLY " ABNORMAL"?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Down_syndrome#Incidence

Ok...lets say a chemical is the cause of DS. Then why is it that older women (typically 35 and older) have a higher risk of having children with DS?

Do we clean more as we age?????
I think it is because the longer you live, the more exposure to this chemical is possible ... and therefore worse and worse effects.

Because it is a 'teratogen' chemical, it is suspect for reproductive harm.

So do you have more flu? ... more 'sniffles?' more 'colds?' ... more episodes of diarrhea unrelated to what you ate? that's what you have to do to find this chemical's exposure

Some thoughts I shared with NIOSH rep

So you're telling me that this chemical builds up in our bodies? It's not naturally excreted and/or disposed of like every other chemical that enters our bodies?

What makes this particular substance so special? How does it resist being eliminated by the body?

and NO....I actually get sick a lot less then when I was younger.

I call it a 'tornado chemical'

It isn't detected when it is there; I think it leaves quickly, but oh, the damage to our systems. All summarized in one word: AUTOIMMUNE.

Age has nothing to do with it.

I think SIDS is one of the things that it could cause ... people paint baby's bedroom; they have lots of friends over. Some baby wipes have butyl in it. (I think that's the worst component).

I think it is the best match for causing 'gulf war syndrome' and CIDIS. And that it is very easy to be exposed. I don't think it builds up in our system; but I think you must avoid exposures at all costs!
So you're telling me this chemical enters our bodies unnoticed. Cannot be detected, leaves immediately.....but causes all this damage in such a short time?

What makes you such an expert on this? What kinds of tests or research have you done? How can you prove this?
Well, of course, the proof is the fatigue that it causes ... however, doctors do not find this fatigue. That is part of the definition of Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome. (Doctors rule out other causes for the symptoms, admit that there is this 'syndrome' and say they do not know what the fatigue is.)

I'm just someone who has spent an inordinate amount of time wondering about all this chemical does ... and looking into it since 2002. I am an observer. I look at the research of others. So I firmly believe there is enough research that has been done; only problem, it doesn't translate into doctors recognizing its pattern

US Govt spent 300 million trying to figure out what has caused 'the gulf war illness'

people had DS..CP..SID AND OTHER VARIOUS " DISFUNCTIONS" LOOONG AGO ..BEFORE ANY CHEMICALS WERE IN USE..AND OCCURRENCES OF THOSE CONDITIONS ARE SPREAD WORLD WIDE..EVEN IN THE COUNTRIES AND REGIONS WHERE PEOPLE HAVE NO ACCESS OR EXPOSURE TO ANY OF THE HARMFUL COMPONENTS.  IE:..

Do you think occurrences of various cancers are new to humanity??  Absolutely not!

Well, it is undisputed that in our country and many other civilized countries ... brain tumors, diabetes, obesity and many autoimmune issues and cancers ARE EPIDEMIC.

I suspect these issues started back when the Chinese invented propulsion for their fireworks, and that in every war since, the chemicals of bombs exploding and guns going off ... get in one's eyes

How far does the wind blow? The bubonic plague?. The flu of WWI, 1918

Did you know that Pres FDR had an autoimmune issue of the nervous system that caused paralysis (He did not have polio). As assist Sect of the Navy in those days ... he got as close to the front lines of WWI as they would let him get ... and that on the return voyage he came down with a strange influenza.

In that war each of the countries contributed about 4,000 tanks. They were experimental then and many of them were male tanks (Had a cannon type artillery unit on the tank). I say too much bomb explosion type chemical in the air caused 'bird flu' People turned so black and blue FROM LACK OF OXYGEN that you couldn't tell what race they were.

I think we had some type of chemical in those bomb fumes ... and in guns going off of every size and shape ... that was a chemical similar if not much worse.

But to say it was a virus, is a guess

And you're the only person in the history of the world to figure any of this out? Wow.

Why do you think that is?
Because people are satisfied with blaming smoking, asbestos, dioxin, a VIRUS ... giving too much flu meds to kids, etc, etc ... for cancers and sudden deaths after 'flu'

First of all, I am talking about the group of people with the odd assortment of symptoms of CFS, FM, CFIDS.  I am talking about the 28% of the population that 'looks like' the gulf war syndrome vets .... and if they don't have 'the fatigue' then did a parent? (I suspect that only then would singular issues pop up ... or a very serious 'right now' exposure).

I am suggesting that every doctor of every ailment should give a pre-entry checklist and actually LOOK FOR this pattern and possible exposure events such as when FLU shows up.

My friend died in March of what will be said was pancreatic/liver cancers.  She reported that they were checking and rechecking her progress with the chemo .... and that the doctors were also trying to find what her anemia was.  She told me the month before her death that she had not heard any more about the anemia.  (I called the lab and gave them a fax & tips on how to find this 'hide-out' autoimmune hemolytic anemia.)  She had 'the chills'; later she turned blue.  In her last hour of life she was frantically gasping for breath and her heart beat was very rapid

When people get brain tumors they blame all the symptoms on the tumor.  You can get a tumor right now ... or 50 years after your birth (late to show up birth defect when a parent was poisoned ... such as Thelma)

I just hope that people will add this to 'the list' of causes.  No matter what remedy the doctor recommends, he/she will not be able to overcome MORE exposure/s.

I have a different perspective, that's all.  And what I've learned, I share with others for free ... hoping to help those to whom it applies.  Hoping doctors or someone of influence will take note. Look for 'the pattern'

CFIDS Health Handout

Look Alike?

Do WWII Vets, Vietnam Vets, Korean Vets, Gulf war vets and civilians with CFIDS look alike?  Do they look like the Exxon Valdez oil spill 'bioremediation' workers?  Do they look like our soldiers who fight in wars today?
