EGBE is an organic solvent, a neurotoxin, a pesticide, a teratogen

(damages our genes & causes many birth defects) ... a poison !

We are not without research on 2-butoxyethanol

Some research *  and *  and *  and *  and  *

The missing link - is for doctors to recognize it -

I believe many, many people are harmed by this chemical

Since this chemical is a teratogen we are now dealing with several generations of 'birth defects' along with 2nd hand exposure and direct exposures & harm to people from WWII & before ... to the present day.

Research - Detailed MSDS - Retic info for Doctors   valdezlink.com/2-bmsds03.htm

Worst thing about NOT knowing the chemical of harm - Is that you can't get an accurate diagnosis - Nor avoid future exposures to the same chemical

2-butoxyethanol  (CAS 111-76-2)

does the following:

Irritating to eyes, skin, nose, throat; Cough, nausea, drowsiness, headache, redness of eyes, eye pain, blurred vision, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, CNS depression, hemolysis, hemoglobinuria.

Affects EYES, skin, respiratory system, central nervous system, hematopoietic system, blood, kidneys, liver, lymphoid system.

Irritates the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Can depress the central nervous system and cause liver and kidney damage.

Exposure may result in blood disorders... especially acute autoimmune hemolytic anemia (Look for blood in urine and)

Special Warnings:  Prevent generation of mists!

What happened to Audrey's husband

Can harm us and our pets, too

I was trying to look up articles/studies on this chemical you keep emailing about.

What is the full name of this butyl chemical, or are there many different 'butyl'?

I am talking about 2-butoxyethanol

which is ethylene glycol monobutyl ether

A couple of Fantastik products have
polypropylene glycol mono butyl ether

Dear Margaret,
I am very interested in 2 butoxyethanol. Do you know or have any information if it would be in the clean up materials that firemen would use after a large fire? Any help you can give with this is much appreciated. thank you, Jan  April, 2006

"High or repeated exposure can break down red blood cells, and cause anemia.

It can also damage the liver and kidneys."
