I've Fallen
Through the Cracks
Hi everyone, I'm new to this site,
but I want to tell my story, and
perhaps one of you can; help me get
me started in the right direction.
6 months after I was discharged from
the Air force, I filed for VA
disability, and I missed my first
C&P because I had moved to a
different state. I then refiled for
VA disability in new the state that
I had moved to. I also had a VSO at
my local regional office to help me
file, but the VSO that I was working
with, didn't do that good of job.
In fact, he filled in a lot of wrong
information on my VA Form 21-22; I
confronted him about this, but he
argued that he was right.
I stopped, trying to get that office
to help me because they were wrong,
and I knew it; the new C&P
examination revealed that I had
medical problems, but this office
said that I didn't, and they refused
to process my paperwork any further,
so I had to file the paperwork
myself.
I got rated 60% for Left ventricular
dysfunction (Gulf war incurred)
I got rated 50% for Major depressive
disorder, recurrent, with psychotic
processes (including memory
problems). (Gulf war incurred)
I also got a 10% rating for
hypertension (Gulf War incurred)
My discharge paperwork has me listed
as Gulf War veteran which I am, but
I have never received an examination
for Gulf war syndrome. Yes, I have
tried, but no one will listen to me.
My Left ventricular dysfunction and
my health has gotten worse, and my
doctor said that I could die from
it.
The VSO, that I had help me;
answered NO for question 16a on my
VA Form 21-526 Part A.
16a. Were you ever stationed in the
Gulf after August 1, 1990? The
answer to this question is yes, and
he marked No. Question 16a. also
asks; if you answer yes to this
question; then answer 16b also.
Question 16b asks Do you want to
have medical and other information
about you included in the "Gulf war
veterans' Health registry?" He
didn't even bother to mark yes or no
on this question. There is also a
note next to question 16a that
states, "The VA has a registry of
veterans who served in the Gulf war.
This area has also been called the
"Persian Gulf." If you served there,
we WILL include your name in the
registry. If you want your medical
information included, you must check
"yes" in item 16b For more
information about the registry, see
page 4 of the General instructions
for VA Form 21-526.
I dug through my records the other
day, and came across my VA Form
21-22 which I had put away and
forgotten about; I then started
researching more about Gulf War
Syndrome, and I found that I have a
lot of the symptoms that other
veterans suffer from. I know Gulf
war syndrome exists because I live
with it every day. My first
Cardiologists, told me that he
couldn't explain my heart condition,
and that in his professional opinion
he believed that I had caught a
virus some how, and it has attached
its self to my heart.
He then sent me to a heart
specialist; the heart specialist
then did a procedure on me; this
procedure entailed burning off
certain little veins running to my
heart which were giving extra little
electrical sparks to my heart.
It has been 4 years now, since that
procedure, and I was just admitted
to hospital the other day because my
" Left ventricular dysfunction" had
gotten worse. My new Cardiologists
said, "that these little veins must
have reattached themselves," and he
wanted to send me to another "Heart
specialist", so they could do some
studies and fit me with a
defibulator. I said, I don't think
so, well you can die, if you don't
have this done. This is were I
currently am in my situation; I am
now in the process of trying to get
a higher rating for my (Gulf war
incurred) Left ventricular
dysfunction.
Here is a question, that I would
like to have answered; Can I hold
this VSO responsible for letting me
fall through the cracks? and Yes, he
was given power of attorney to
represent me.
I realize that this is a long post,
but any help would be greatly
appreciated. Marvin 8-12-07

Probably the reason they don't want
to examine you for 'gulf war
syndrome' is because after 300
million dollars in research, they do
not know what 'gulf war syndrome' is
... nor do they suspect, as I do,
that it is one chemical exposure
used in abundance since 1930s ...
and a worse variety before that ...
that causes ALL of the Symptoms all
by itself, and that goes for heart
damage.
THE FATIGUE and things to check
Prove that the harming chemical is
2-butoxyethanol is the fatigue so
far not found by doctors ... the
fatigue of CFIDS
Of course you are looking for
something that civilians have in
equal abundance; you are looking for
something that does all the harm you
have (not just some of the things)

Recent Expousre? Check these things
and be sure to avoid this
autoimmune causing chemical ... at
all costs
Notice how gulf war vets, Vietnam
Vets & civilians with CFIDS look the
same
Now as to giving your power of
attorney (limited to this one aspect
of your life, right) to someone who
you don't think is helping that much
... or listening to your situation
(Granted they are overworked &
trying to 'clear their desk') ...
you can have it revoked & represent
yourself or have someone else
eventually work on your behalf.

As to the defibulator, there is a
portable kind that you can keep with
you at all times. If the heart
rhythm stops or goes way too fast.
It stops the heart (or starts it up)
so it can reset itself. If that's
what you need, it might be worth
doing; but if not I heard Phillips
has a portable one that should be
good.
