Hi, note: English is not my
native language.
I have been diagnosed CPEO
(Chronic progressive external
ophthalmoplegia). The main
symptom is the progressive
paralysis of the extra ocular
muscles which, in turn, causes
droopy eyelids, double vision
and blurred vision. In its more
severe form, it is also possible
to show limb weakness, excersise
intolerance,cardiac problems,
renal failure and liver failure.
Mitochondrial myopathy, the
general term for a group of
related diseases, including CPEO,
is usually caused by a defect in
the mitochondrial DNA, causing
mitochondrial malfunction and a
myriad of diseases and symptoms.
As of today, there is not
effective treatment for this
disease.
Some doctors recommend the
so-called "mitochondrial
cocktail", which is a group and
vitamins and enzymes that, in
some cases, seem to improve
patientīs conditions. I have
been searching during the last
month or so and I have found at
least 3 different formulations.
The compounds are roughly the
same in all of them. For
example,
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) 50-200
mg three times daily (although
some patients with primary CoQ10
deficiency have taken up to 1000
mg three times daily)
L-carnitine 300-1000 mg three
times daily
Thiamine (vitamin B1) 50-200 mg
daily
Riboflavin (vitamin B2) 50-600
mg daily
Vitamin C 100-400 mg daily
(usually divided into 2-3 daily
doses)
Vitamin E 200-1200 IU daily
Vitamin K3 5-80 mg daily
Folate 1-10mg daily
Alpha-lipoic acid up to 400mg
three times daily
Creatine monohydrate 5-10 grams
daily
Idebenone 45-360 mg three times
daily (Sometimes used instead of
coenzyme Q10)
Translating this to LE products
I have come to this mix:
1. LE Mix
2. Mitochondrial Booster
3. Super ubiquinol
4. Creatine Powder micronized
Do you think is this the
right mix ?
Do you have more info on CPEO
that I could read ?
Maybe this is a good
candidate formulation for a new
LE product
Thanks., LG |
