David Kohler, 56, former senior vice president and general counsel for CNN, died of cancer Oct. 15,
according to a posting on the Web site of the Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.

Most recently, Kohler was a law professor there and director of the Bonald E. Biederman Entertainment and Law Institute, where he taught First Amendment and mass media law and oversaw a number of related programs.

Kohler joined TBS in 1991 and was named general counsel of CNN five years later.

Kohler was also a partner in the Richmond, Va., firm of Christian and Barton, where he represented cable and broadcast clients.

 
This is very sad. We are loosing too many wonderful people to cancer. Statistics I noticed last was that 1 in 2 people by 2010 will have a diagnosis of cancer sometime in their lifetime. I strongly suspect exposure to glycol ether would cause this epidemic as well as the epidemic of skyrocketing autoimmune issues, birth defects and Autism. Exposure 'looks like' the flu. How many episodes of 'the flu' and 'the sniffles' did David C. Kohler have? Did he also have shortness of breath? ... rapid heart beat? ... David C. Kohler, Professor of Law and Director of the Donald E. Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute at Southwestern, passed away on October 15 after a long battle with cancer. He was 56.
