canker sores - any effective treatment? prevention?

I'm thinking of just letting it heal by itself,
which, based on past episodes, might take a week
or so for me.

but it really hurts!

any suggestions to relieve the pain and make it
heal faster?

any preventive steps in the future?

thanks folks!
Also avoid chemical exposures. There are lots of odd reactions to various chemicals; however, one chemical that would cause mouth ulcers is 2-butoxyethanol.

A woman who worked with the seal recovery in Seward, Alaska said that once at the end of summer, 1989 an orange furred baby seal came in. It had mouth ulcers. Soon all the workers, including her, had mouth ulcers.

They went to the doctor/s and were told ... just a virus. Well, what else was going on was the use of 2-butoxyethanol in Inipol EAP 22 (an Exxon owned 'experiment') and dropping of Corexit in the waters. One had 12% 2-butoxyethanol, the latter had 38% and is still in use today.

Her name is Robin Hancock Crochet and she replied to an ad in the Times Picayune, paper in New Orleans, LA. Her half sister is looking for her. Robin shared a lot more things started going wrong with her, too. She shared she had her pancreas & spleen removed May 5, 2003 (awaiting a transplant). Next report - 10-17-03 I haven't heard from her since. She had an assortment that could be described as CFIDS.

We had a young woman in our town who had mouth ulcers and the doctors could not figure out why or even what to do for her. I suspect that since she was a piano teacher who went to other people's homes, she added a new student ... and in that home they used the wrong cleaning products. Most have too much of this chemical and it is in most all carpet cleaning products. Don't get the vapors in your eyes, and when you start 'sniffling' be aware of what is going on around you. What is different than before?
