Who
am I?
I am
married with three grown children and nearly
9 grandchildren. I am a college graduate and
have an elementary teaching certificate from
Central Washington University. I worked as a
real estate broker for ten years in Port
Angeles, WA and then again since 1992 in the
town we live in. We operate a
Bed 'n Breakfast
home in our town.
My interest in CFIDS
began after a member of my family worked on
the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup,
1989 &
1990. In
those days,
Exxon ran 'the show'
He didn't share with me,
though, until 2001. |
As a 'learner' I wanted to
know why it was that the chemical mentioned as harmful:
2-butoxyethanol and which research showed caused
autoimmune hemolytic anemia ... was not found by
doctors: just a comment that he had a low red blood cell
anemia and that he had a very serious depression that
Prozac couldn't alleviate.
What a struggle - succeeding over very difficult health
issues: every day of your life ... VERY TIRED and
all-the-time depressed, Later I learned he is
dealing with an autoimmune issue against platelets and
possibly something along the lines of Cohn's. I've
also noted
paranoia and he has talked about fuzzy
thinking and difficulty concentrating. In the
process of seeking answers, I believe I have
stumbled onto the
anemia doctors are looking for
My attention turned
towards the 'gulf war syndrome' vets in 2003 after
spending some time getting acquainted with the Exxon
Valdez Oil spill cleanup workers,
I recognized 'the
symptoms' of BUTYL exposure BEFORE I found
2-butoxyethanol and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether on
the list of solvents & pesticides that gulf war troops
were exposed to (Book
2). Researchers have concluded that
except for ALS, there is no difference in the types of
health issues gulf war vets and civilians have. So
it much be
something that is common
for everyone.

My 6 month old was just diagnosed with ovarian cysts
yesterday- 2 on her right and one on her left. She had
an ultrasound as a precaution because her 2 year old
sister has Grade II vesicoureteral reflux, and siblings
have a 1 in 3 chance of having the same problem. Anyway,
I am an RN myself, and was in the ultrasound room with
my daughter. I know somewhat what I am looking at on the
ultrasound screen, and was alarmed to see the tech
measuring three cysts when she was supposed to be
measuring the bladder! I have never heard of ovarian
cysts in infants. I finally got in touch with my
pediatrician today, and he said that since they were
classified as small (I believe they are around 2 cm) and
that she has no symptoms (pain or hirsutism), then we
should just follow up with another ultrasound in a month
and they should go away. He said we only need to worry
if they persist or grow larger. However, he had not
personally heard of this occurring, and he was reading
to me from his literature as we spoke!! He did read to
me that ovarian cysts are common in infants, it is just
that we don't see them much because we don't often do
abdominal ultrasounds on infants. Therefore, her cysts,
and maybe your daughter's are just incidental findings.
After reading your story, I am not sure that the
conservative path is the way to go... It seems that not
much is known about ovarian cysts in infants.
On a side note, I find it interesting that your
Urologist wants to do a Deflux procedure for a Grade II
reflux. My 2 year old is on daily antibiotics, and my
urologist (a leading pediatric urologist at Miami
Children's Hospital) recommends conservative treatment
unless she breaks through the antibiotic therapy. On her
ultrasound, we found a small amount of scarring, and the
affected kidney is actually a bit smaller than the other
kidney. We did not find her reflux until 1 month ago- I
am assuming she has had multiple infections that I
was not aware of!
Good luck with everything! I am still a little in shock
myself...

the kinds of things you are talking about could have
an autoimmune aspect to them and be 'birth defects' when
someone in the family line has exposure to BUTYL prior
to the child's conception ....
BUTYL causes ME, CFIDS, CFS, FM 'gulf war syndrome'
http://www.valdezlink.com/re/butylcauses.htm
Is there anyone who has the chronic fatigue syndrome
health issues?
Did a parent or grandparent serve in a war or work in
manufacturing ... or do professional cleaning/ painting?
I think it would be worth looking into glyconutrients (Nutritian
on cellular level) I think it helps a body work as it
should instead of having more and more autoimmune
issues, which is the bigger picture

unexplained fever My
father 66 years in India is having for the past 3 months
unexplained fever between 99-102.5 Dc.All possible tests
like Malaria, Typhoid, TB, HIV, Hepatatis B & C , Bone
Marrow ,Urinary infection , CSF Lumbar ,Thyroid FNAC,
Leptospyrosis, PCR taken and are Negative.Ultra sound
scan of Liver, Chest, abdomen, Pancreas, neck,
Colonoscopy of lower intestine, Rectum and CT scan of
abdomen, Head was all normal. He was given lot of
antibiotics and paracetamol tabs and injections but of
no use. 15 days back his Dr.gave NSAID tab (etrocoxib)
and the fever stopped. But when he stopped the
NSAID tablet fever has again come. He lost weight
6-7 kgs initially but now he maintains his weight. He
has High BP and under went Thyroid operation 8 years
back and he takes regular medication for both. He also
had Cataract surgery on his left eye 6 months back. Can
anyone please guide how to treat him for possible cure.

The things you mention can be part of a particular
chemical exposure that would cause autoimmune issues.
Autoimmune hypothalamus. Antibiotics are not the answer.
Even high white blood cell counts are a clue to the
FATIGUE that usually is also present but not always
CFIDS, CFS, FM type symptoms
http://www.valdezlink.com/re/butylcauses.htm
Fever & high BP & elevated Blood Sugar to me would
signal a recent or ongoing exposure to BUTYL

I am writing hoping someone can shed some light on
my recent lab results. 3 months ago I was diagnosed with
Crohns disease and had a full liver panel test done
which came back great. About 1 month ago I noticed dark
urine and went back for a followup with my GI dr. Liver
panels were again done and my enzymes were through the
roof. alt of 1120 and ast of 783, total bilirubin of 1.6
with direct of .99, alk phos were 163. She immediately
thought gallbladder so I had a ultrasound scan which
showed my liver and pancreas looked normal, no bile duct
dialation but maybe some sludge or very small stones. We
have repeated blood tests 5 times thinking it would
resolve if I had passed a stone but they continue to
stay the same or rise. Most recently more blood tests
were run including antibody tests. The following are the
ones that came back abnormal. Iron serum, 209
(saturation and binding were normal) Ferritin was 1492,
Epstein Barr antibody IgG 2030, (Igm was normal), Ast
was 894 Alt was 1328 , Total Bilirubin was 1.5 with
direct being .85. Protein and Albumin as well as all
other antibodies were normal. She is sending me to a
liver specialist thinking this sounds like autoimmune
hep. I am just wondering if this can come out of no
where. Could I have completely normal liver tests 3
months ago and have developed this in such a short
period of time, or does that mean I could have had it
for a very long time and the spike in lab values mean
that I have severly damaged my liver. What does Epstein
Barr antibody that high mean, could this cause
autoimmune hep?? I am 43 years old with 4 kids to take
care of, will this kill me or require me to have a liver
transplant?? Any help from anyone going through this
would be so much appreciated
Thanks so much for your response. Dr doesn't seem to
want to spend much time answering my questions.
Hopefully the Liver Specialists will be for forthcoming.
I appreciate your insight and anyone elses out there
that has gone through something similiar.
Thanks again, nodaks

Dark urine could mean right now exposure to a
chemical such as 2-butoxyethanol or any product with
BUTYL. Have you done anything that causes you to have
'the sniffles?' a cold? or 'flu' symptoms? Farting?
Diarrhea?
http://www.valdezlink.com/generic.htm#8
It is indicative of red blood cells dying of prematurely
such as in autoimmune hemolytic anemia. I believe thisis
the fatigue doctors are looking for in CFIDS
Avoid BUTYL or what ails you gets worse with more add on
issues such as CFIDS, CFS, FM, ME

About three weeks ago or so, I woke up and my left
ear felt "plugged." It didn't go away as I thought it
would. I had an episode of dizziness over that weekend.
My ear still feels plugged, although it cleared a couple
of tmes today, but my hearing isn't back to normal. The
tinnitus is also much more intense.
I saw my family doctor and he said "It's probably a
virus." He thought I should wait a couple of months or
something before going to an ENT. I guess if I did have
Meniere's or something there isn't much to be done about
it but I still feel like I should "DO SOMETHING." I have
more difficulty understanding speech than just in
general. It's just weird. Does anyone have any advice? I
haven't had a second episode of dizziness, but my
hearing has not really improved much either. Thanks |
We have a young woman in our town who had dizziness
for a week, and then lost the hearing in one ear, and
had this diagnosis
http://www.valdezlink.com/pages/thoughtsonhearing.htm
I thought that if it was something that exposure to
2-butoxyethanol would cause, she should avoid any more
exposure.
http://www.valdezlink.com/re/avoidpesticides.htm
Anyway, I looked it up, and this is an autoimmune issue

| got flu like symptoms almost 3 months ago....had
the usual body aches and cough. The fever went away
after a week but the cough continued on. About month or
so later I got the same thing....the cough didnt linger
as long. Now I am at the point where seem better but I
notice that when I outside where its hot or working out.
I get this warm feeling and seem to sweat more
especially on my back. Whether I am sitting in my car or
doing something active it seems to be excessive compared
to what I use to have. There were a few times where I
had some night sweats but that could have been due to
the room being warm in the summer. I also get these hot
flashes or chills randomly. Its starting to affect my
normal routine. Does anyone know what this could
possibly be? medhelp.org/posts/show/623523 |
Can you think of anything that was different from
your normal routine with the flu/cold symptoms started
up?
These as well as cough, in my opinion, signal a chemical
exposure
I would be especially concerned about 'the chills' as
that is one of the signs of Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia
that exposure to 'the flu symptom causing chemical'
would cause
http://www.valdezlink.com/generic.htm#8
Sweats might be start up of lymphoma ... sweating
abnormally might be some type of autoimmune issue that
affects the glands
BUTYL causes ME, CFIDS, CFS, FM 'gulf war syndrome'
http://www.valdezlink.com/re/butylcauses.htm
What we blame on a virus - for colds and for 'the flu'
is more probably a chemical exposure to BUTYL or EGBE |

I've been sick since December, with all sorts of
symptoms, and of course, no diagnosis. Today I noticed
that I have a raised rash, with small bumps on the backs
of my arms. There are white dots, some the size of an
eraser on a pencil. They are scattered everywhere, but
generally not itchy. All together, my arms are purplish
with white dots? Does anyone have any suggestions?? Any
ideas would be greatly appreciated. :)
Other symptoms include: dizziness (constant), white
flashes in vision (when blinking), stiff neck, increased
blood pressure, fullness in ears, crusty ears (sorry,
it's not pretty), intermittent bloody noses, wheezing,
tachycardia, many epithelial cells in urine, elevated
ALT enzymes, body temperature goes up and down
throughout the day, but never higher than 100.0 degrees,
constant fatigue and the purplish rash mentioned above.
The rash sometimes looks like fishnet stockings, in a
purple lacy pattern down my arms and legs.
Thanks for your help. :)
medhelp.org/posts/show/537321 |
These are the kind of things that exposure to BUTYL
would cause. What were you doing differently than before
this started up? For the symptoms to be lasting so long
with new ones being added, maybe you are continuing to
be exposed
I think exposure to 2-butoxyethanol & other products
with butyl ... are the primary cause of multiple
autoimmune issues such as the odd pattern of CFIDS, CFS,
FM, ME
Did you comment that you have blood in urine? The proof
of EGBE exposure is the anemia that doctors don't find.
Too many things going up and down for the numbers to
help them find the autoimmune hemolytic anemia or immune
mediated hemolytic anemia that it cases
The dizziness must relate to lack of proper oxygenation
... red blood cells dying off prematurely

My 6 year old daughter has had bouts with vomiting
and diarrhea for two weeks now. I am concerned now that
she has had cramping and diarrhea for almost a full
week. I started with diarrhea and fever yesterday
myself. Should I be concerned or just let it run its
course?
medhelp.org/posts/show/622163 |
I think I know exactly what this is.
Sounds like exposure to BUTYL. and it can be in cleaning
products used at home or at her day care.
It may show up earlier for her because she has had more
exposures in her life and she is more sensitive to BUTYL
BUTYL causes ME, CFIDS, CFS, FM 'gulf war syndrome'
http://www.valdezlink.com/re/butylcauses.htm
Reaction is IMMEDIATE for me. Usually it is loosening of
the sinuses to loosening of the bowels. Ask yourself
what is different for you than before this started up.
EVEN who is around you differently before, as there can
be second hand exposure ... not just direct exposure
such as the cleaning products, paints, stains that are
used ... |

| still having low grade fevers
I have had low grade fevers since the end of July. my
hematologist sent me for a pet scan which came back
negative. I had a sono of my left auxillary because he
felt a lump. that came up negative too. my question is
i am still having fevers, night sweats but not every
night, what could be the problem and do you think they
should have biopsied the lump he felt under my
arm? blood work is good except for low iron and b-12. i
have been getting b-12 shots and they retested me it was
on 3400. is that normal for seven or eight
shots??? please help i don;t know where else to
turn. thank you donna1205
i was told the pet scan was negative. i still am
getting low grade fevers. my doctor did a ekg for
medical clearance for my colonoscopy and found my heart
rate was at 58 she sent me to a cardiologist. he did a
eco cardio gram and said he would like me to have a ct
of my heart if insurance would cover it. my question is
my blood pressure has always been about 120 over 80. he
checked it and said it was 100 over 50. what could be
some reasons for this. i really am very concerned about
this findings as i still have fevers, and headaches on
and off wed of this week i had a headache all day...the
past 2 months so much has cropped up with me it's
confusing. all my blood work is not alarming to the
doctors and yet they can't give me a definitive answer
to what could be the reason for all this. i am still
taking the iron pills 3xdaily and they retested my b-12
which went up to 3400. i am still short of
breath.......help! thank you

Could be autoimmune hypothalamus
There is a particular chemical in many products (BUTYL)
that would cause this
Low grade fever to me would signal an ongoing exposure
I think abnormal body temp, blood pressure and blood
sugar are hypothalamus issues.

Toddler Having Joint Pain My 5
year old son keeps having joint pains at night once or
twice a week which wakes him up at night crying. Most of
the time the pain is in his angle joints, sometimes only
one leg and sometimes both. Sometimes the pain starts
from the knee and later shifts to the angles. There are
times when the pain happens in the morning lasting for
hours. Massaging gives him relief and the pain goes away
after some time. This has been going on for a year or so
and i have read about growing pain. Is this part of
growing or related to something else. Any suggestion on
this topic will be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Fortune 9-13-08 medhelp.org/posts/show/626689 |
Are there any times that you notice moisture under
his nose? (A slight loosening of the sinuses). It might
be exposure to Butyl in cleaning products you or a
caregiver is using.
http://groups.msn.com/clean
Does he have any episodes of farting and diarrhea? Has
he had 'flu' symptoms? Has he had 'a cold?'
These are all symptoms of exposure to butyl which in my
opinion should be suspect for the Chronic Fatigue
Syndromes and Fibromyalgia which has joint pain
associated with it ... is the same type of issue.
I personally react to this chemical (though not so
seriously to the point of having the fatigue and memory
loss and depression). I have noticed that when I get
extra exposures horrible joint pains hit me ... and I
look for glyconutrients to help back off the autoimmune
attack.
http://www.valdezlink.com/re/avoidpesticides.htm
I know this seems like an odd reply,
but I am very certain I am right about this, if the
symptoms are there.
You even need to take note of a new person coming
around, as there is such a thing as second hand exposure
to this chemical |

Health issue
talking point for Gov Sarah Palin Tell 1/3

that your focus #1 health issue is to find the ANEMIA
... the FATIGUE of Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction

we will put forth a National call to find out what

Some baby wipes are
better than others. I recommend Huggies

BUTYL causes ME, CFIDS, CFS, FM 'gulf war syndrome'

something different that could be an exposure to this
