"I have just visited my dentist and have been told that the
bone has severely deteriorated and I have some regression of
gums and it would appear that keeping all my teeth for the
longhaul is highly unlikely and in some cases almost too late.
Heres the
thing...my dad was a dentist, retired for the last 7
years and my teeth up to that point looked perfect.
I brushed twice a day and massaged my gums all my life,
but not regularly and consistently flossed (my laziness).
My previous trip to the dentist was about 5 years
ago and everything was good but since then I have been
diagnosed with autoimmune disease, fibromyalgia and related
connective tissue disease as well as chronic fatigue. I wonder
whether there is a connection? Has anybody ever linked
these diseases? Over the last 5 years my gums have become
sore and red and I now have some small movement of my lower
front teeth. Anyway I cant afford to visit a peridondist,
and my dentist tells me that they will extract
$thousands from me, and I don't even have $hundreds so I've
had to research for a do-it-yourself fix it. After
reading this forum I have invested in a spray bottle of
colloidal silver, 150 mg coQ10 and antioxidant complex, floss,
a new tooth brush and baking soda added paste. I'm also looking
to buy a water pik but am still researching them and looking
to where I can buy in Australia. I will periodically post
to this forum and advise how this treatment is working for the
benefit of others who may have similar problems"

I was wondering that when I read your post in the
first place. I wanted to know whether or not you might have some
autoimmune issues ... any exposure to what I would consider a very
prevalent 'autoimmune causing chemical:
2-butoxyethanol &/or diethylene glycol monobutyl
ether
Did you have some 'flu like symptoms' with a fatigue
start up after? and other symptoms such as CFIDS ... or the
'gulf war syndrome' symptoms?
I remember what a gulf war vet shared with me.
He said that he took care of his teeth, but that they were falling
out. That might be a connective tissue issue?
But since he has been diagnosed with bone marrow and
liver failures. I suspect this chemical in children of those
harmed, could also cause heart defects, based on anecdotal stories I
have heard from those with known and suspected exposure to this
chemical. CFS,
CFIDS, FM? Just depends on which sub
symptoms you want to group together

No nothing like that - no chemicals that i'm aware of.
I actually suffer from lupus, which is an autoimmune
disease. In my case its hereditary and can disguise
itself as other syndromes - thus the fatigue and
fibromyalgia which near crippled me some years ago.
Also very very difficult to diagnose - i spent two years
with various doctors, including specialists to figure it
out. Finally I took it upon myself to research various
diseases on the web and ordered several blood tests etc and
finally I discovered what it was - later confirmed by a specialist
in the field. Its unfortunate, but my specialist tells
me that to help overcome the autoimmune disease it would not
be wise to boost my autoimmune system with dietary and other
supplements as the nature of the disease it means that my
body attacks itself and the stronger my body is, the more
virulent the attacks - however, this runs you down and
leaves you open to infections, colds, flu, etc. so i now
take dietary supplements, have changed my lifestyle somewhat
as well as my attitude to life in general and have found the
symptoms have disappeared - but i am left with bad gums and
a deteriorated jaw bone - I'm doing just about everything
that has been listed in the forum and have seen some
improvement over the last 4-5 weeks since I posted, but not
substantial enough to say the risk of loosing my teeth is
over, although I believe that the process will reverse
itself if i continue to diligently treat my gums and health
as a high priority. I also use hydrogen peroxide as a
mouthwash and spend about 1hr a day brushing, flossing and
rinsing - very time consuming, but I think worth it.
also,
I have been using 6% hydrogen peroxide diluted 50/50 with
water as a mouthwash twice a day and after approx. 1-2
weeks use some puss; cell debris, bacteria and
infection I believe, came to the surface of my lower front
gum, from below the receded gum line, so it actually made
a hole in the side of the gum to escape where the tissue
was extremely weak - pretty yukky, but nevertheless a
desireable outcome - as it means the bacteria is being
stopped in its tracks. With further diligent use of
floss and interdens (a wooden triangular shaped toothpick)
which I prefer to floss and consistent brushing and
rinsing I hope in the next few weeks to see a great
improvement in my gums and hopefully some tightening of
the teeth that are now showing some movement. I have
also been taking, but now run out until next I can afford
some more, Coq10 max 150 mg and 1500 ACE super strength
antioxidents with all the base minerals etc. but both are
very expensive averaging about $120/mth for me here in
Australia so i will have to save for some more over the
next couple of months and then maybe take every second day
to still gain the benefit from them. I used
colloidal silver for a few weeks, but then changed to H2O2
as i was concerned that constant use of the silver may
make my teeth and gum lines black due to the oxidation of
silver - that didnt happen so i guess you would need to
use quite a lot but i have found the H2O2 to be extremely
effective and it's cheap which makes a nice change.
I will post again in a couple of months but I do look
regularly at this forum to read further advice and so I
would invite ppl to comment if they can. I would
also like to see a global response from periodonists whos
comments would be appreciated. I plan to email this
page to my own periodonist, whom I can't actually afford
to go see, but would like him to at least see my OPG.
So if its not to much trouble if this page interests you perhaps
you could also send to your own periodonist for viewing
and comment - cos I have to get really good and
consistent advice in lieu of actually finding the funds to
visit one myself.

You could be exposed and might not be aware of it ...
Main ways to get the effects of overexposure to EGBE or
2-butoxyethanol:
- Indirect or 2nd hand solvent exposure
(someone breathing out the fumes ... & their getting
into your eyes) Maybe even
SIDS?
- and from a parent who has been chemically
poisoned by 2-butoxyethanol. It is a teratogen
chemical, and I suspect it is the cause of Chronic Fatigue
Immune Dysfunction Syndrome. Does a parent have that?

8-18-05 I have come a long way in overcoming the
symptoms of autoimmune and connective tissue disorders
and associated pain through sheer bloody mindedness - i
have undertaken body cleansing methods through diet and
supplements as well as regular exercise, weight loss and
most of all through change of attitude of that of victim
to conqueror - i wont tolerate my body responding in an
unhealthy fashion. I realize that this attitude
can be the thin edge of the wedge in so far as denial is
quite possible and with some serious diseases any amount
of positive thinking and recommended positive
actions will not overcome the illness - but having said
that you having nothing to loose and everything to gain
with the right thinking, faith and belief in yourself.
These minuscule mycoplasmas definitely have a limited
life span if they're in my body - this is a bit of a
cosmic thought but i figure I'll drive them out with the
commanding words of my mouth if i have nothing else to
use as a weapon against them - this thought may have
fallen off the scientific map a bit for overcoming
disease in its many and varied forms but it also
has merit - particularly if your financially
challenged - you are required to draw on your faith to
fight the good fight and after all good attitude is
free and i have proven, to myself anyway, that it works.
It also opens other doors which bring you to new
methods of overcoming from a medical perspective. In
any case, specialist treatments and medications are not
always what they're cracked up to be and can most often
only elevate symptoms not fix the problem -
particularly these vague syndrome type diseases which we
are referring to here as there is no apparent 'cure' for
them - further i have seen several doctors and
specialists and they don't really have the answers, eg.
one specialist told me not to boost my immune system or
my disease may get worse - from the perspective of his
specialty of autoimmune 'skin diseases' he is probably
right, but holistically for the health of the whole body
its a bloody stupid thing to say, you could end up
fixing one thing and then having a breakdown of other
body organs and that would be no good at all. I suppose
generally, I try to take a composite view of both
natural and medical fixes - all of which I mix with
faith. |
