I exclaimed, "Peggy, did your son who worked on the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup come to live with you after that job he did in 1989?" Her answer, "YES"

I wanted to share with you a conversation I had with a lady in my town. Someone told me that years ago she was so weak and tired that she couldn't get out of bed to go to work, and even after trying to do part time, couldn't. She had to give her job up. She said she came down with CFS and FM in 1991 and she knows the exact day when it started.

She was attending a conference for Parks 'n Rec people in Juneau when these flu like symptoms started up. She felt like vomiting and she had diarrhea. She felt bad from that day to this. Many years she had various tests taken and has since given up trying to figure out what's wrong.

I asked her, who were you talking to when the flu - like symptoms started ... She replied, "I can't remember what I had for dinner last night."

I mailed her some info & hope that she can find out if it was 2nd hand exposure to 2-butoxyethanol, as I suspect it was. Back then, there may have been some Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup workers attending also (?)

Lots of things are autoimmune. I believe this chemical to be an autoimmune metabolic causing chemical AND the cause of CFS, CFIDS, FM ... or for which ever sub groups of ailments you want to group together. I suspect it for causing reproductive harm and birth defects that are metabolic ... there's a whole list of syndromes and autoimmune issues that the doctors say they don't know what they are caused from.

I suggest they should consider the 2-butoxyethanol poisoning of people.

It seems to cause diabetes many times, too.

EPA won't respond to the harm of 2-butoxyethanol (I suspect this for causing most of the diabetes ... and harm to kidneys) UNTIL those harmed by it can find the harm .  Do doctors know what 'the fatigue is' in CFS?  How many people with diabetes have CFIDS ... or their parents/grandparents did?

I think this is a diabetes causing chemical , and an  autoimmune causing chemical and that there are 3 ways to be exposed:
  • direct exposure (too much looks like ' the flu')
  • Indirect or 2nd hand solvent exposure (someone breathing out the fumes ... & their getting into your eyes) SIDS?
  • and from a parent who has been chemically poisoned by 2-butoxyethanol.  It is a teratogen chemical, and I suspect it is the cause of Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome.  Does a parent have that?

Don't breath in baby's eyes

I'm a grandma, too, and would help out any way I can.

But since I've learned about 2nd hand exposure possibilities to the chemical I suspect for cause of CFS, FM, CFIDS ... I would suggest that you not breath in baby's eyes ... and air the room out.

At times when you feel particularly fatigued - or if there was a possibility of any exposure to 2-butoxyethanol type chemicals, I would stay away from baby.

I don't know.  But I think it would be a good thing to know
 
I do not believe what the Chemical Companies lobbied EPA with ... that it is only 24-48 hours

Second hand solvent exposure.
 
I would like to know what happened to the roommates of all the bioremediation workers who went to college 1989-1990.  (There were 1,000 young men - mostly college students in that experiment)
 
They went to college & roomed with 1-3 others in small dorm rooms many times.  The roommates could come down with CFS CFIDS - which, in my opinion is the civilian term for what this EGBE causes 2nd hand - by getting the vapors in their eyes.
 
So questions is, How long can someone be trying to get EGBE out of their system in strong enough amounts to expose others?  How can we find out, without using humans again for such an experiment?

The History Channel Documentary 4-23-05 and 4-24-05, FDR:  A Presidency Revealed talked about things that would be like what overexposure to 2-butoxyethanol would cause: * enlarged heart,  many horrible HEADACHES -   some at the base of the head, tired , ashen/pale color, difficulty finishing thoughts in sentences (short term memory loss), difficulty concentrating . Also high blood pressure (180/105), rapid weight loss (liver?)

Repeated headaches.  Headaches were intensifying

4-11-45 as he went to bed he was 'shivering'    (chills?)  

After an acute headache at the back of his head, he collapsed on 4-12-45 and died a few hours later.

Too much of some kind of chemical?
