I
just saw where someone posted this article on Patriot
Files ... and this is my reply:
Why
is the focus on sarin gas, shots, depleted uranium?
One chemical troops were exposed to ... that also causes
neurological harm ... is 2-butoxyethanol. We are poisoning
our own troops, all, by not recognizing this and taking
precautions when using cleaning and degreaser products ...
Many
of which contain this chemical.
What does 2-butoxyethanol cause
valdezlink.com/hb/2-B_causes.htm
Now,
be careful of 2-2-butoxyethanol, too!
And
here are some every day products it is in
These
are the Target Organs:
Eyes
skin
respiratory tract
central nervous system
liver, and kidneys
But also, since it is not only a solvent, it is a poison
and a pesticide ... and all of the endocrine system is at
risk; diabetes and over weight and blood pressure problems
can also be affected by 2-butoxyethanol
and mutliple
cancers of which they tell you not.
AND it
is a teratogen ...it harms the developing fetus; it
targets the testes. I think it is this in jet fuel that is
causing
a decline in the sperm of our nation's men. Then 1996
multiple news articles on this topic state that today's
man is only half the man that his grandfather was.
Actually, this is a very abbreviated list of the harm of
2-butoxyethanol (they left out BLOOD damage, for one
thing):

"Medical
Surveillance: Consider the points of attack
(liver, kidneys, lymphoid system, skin, blood,
eyes, respiratory system) in placement and
periodic physical examinations.

Chemicals and Carcinogens, 1985. 2nd ed. Park

2-Butoxyethanol causes acute hemolytic anemia in
rats
In F344 male rats, 2-butoxyethanol causes severe
acute hemolytic anemia resulting in significant
increase in the concentration of free plasma
hemoglobin. Secondary to the hemolytic effects,
2-butoxyethanol also caused hemoglobinuria as well
as histopathologic changes in the liver and
kidney."

I came across what
this chemical does when I started studying it in June,
2002 in earnest ...
This is how my study started:
Here are some of the similarities between exposures for
those at end of the first Gulf War, 1990-1991... and those
of the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup workers
http://www.valdezlink.com/wondering.htm
http://www.valdezlink.com/1989photos.htm
Here is info on Chad stirring the out house stuff with jet
fuel that was burning
www.valdezlink.com/gw_jetfuel.htm
- photo below
Some jet fuels, 2-6 are labeled as pesticides, too www.valdezlink.com/jp4.htm
In Viet Nam war, they mixed the dioxin with jet fuel so it
would adhere to the foliage
I also compared this 2-butoxyethanol to the list of harm
... as to that of the
organophosphates. 2-butoxyethanol is
a better match
I also have information on how 2nd hand exposure of this
chemical harms spouses and children of those exposed.
It is the vapors in the eyes of someone ... that is the
worst exposure. From breath of someone expelling the
chemical to the child or spouse, or person sitting next to
you in the airplane, or, or, or .... Dentists,
chiropractors, and doctors, beware.

The BIG picture

Housewives are equally at risk for this chemical's harm. Mechanics,
too
I wonder what the research forum meeting in Washington DC
this Mon and Tues will conclude? This time, they know to
consider 2-butoxyethanol, if
they look at the info shared by an ordinary person such as
me, anyway
| This
is what I'm working on to submit to the
panel meeting this coming Monday in Wash DC on
'gulf war syndrome'
2-butoxyethanol
and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether
should be considered among the chemicals of harm
for Gulf War Vets of 1990-1991
AND for Troops from other time periods, too
|
I would call ‘gulf war syndrome’ in the
general population as Chronic Fatigue Immune
Dysfunction Syndrome. www.valdezlink.com/cfid_share.htm
I suspect that it is 2-butoyethanol that is the
primary cause of both of these groups, and the
fatigue that it causes is acquired autoimmune
hemolytic anemia that does not show up in the
regular blood work as doctors expect it to. Early
on there will be blood in urine and the red blood
cells will become mostly immature. If doctors
check for this even when they don’t expect it to
be there, they will find the fatigue.
I began studying 2-butoxyethanol in earnest in
June, 2002 until now, spending 5-6 hours a day on
it. This is a chemical that has been harming our
population, unnoticed, for over half a century. It
was the stated chemical of harm during the Exxon
Valdez oil spill cleanup in Inipol EAP 22 and
Corexit. The Dept of Defense has purchased Corexit,
and I do not know what they think it is good for.
At 38% 2-butoxyethanol and some ethylene oxide, it
should be disposed of as a hazardous waste.
(Causes pulmonary edema; troops would look like
they had ‘pneumonia’) Other products such as
Simple Green, 409 Cleaner, Lysol Tub ‘n Tile and
Lysol Kitchen Disinfectant are also NOT SAFE
Another cause of ‘flu-like’ symptoms, by the
way, is exposure to 2-butoxyethanol. IF troops are
checked for their reticulocyte count at that time,
it would be very elevated when it is this
chemical’s poisoning. Over time it drops and
drops, but STILL the blood work that doctors
expect to show anemia DOES NOT. www.valdezlink.com/why_fatigue.htm
Compare the red blood cell counts to their own
prior counts; the same for ferritin which may be
dropping, too.
This chemical’s harm needs to be added to the
list of approved disabilities for the military
from WWII to this present day. Its harm has been
well known among those in the chemical industry.
Many studies have been done, of which I summarize
some here
www.valdezlink.com/generic.htm#research
-
www.valdezlink.com/acute.htm
and when you are wanting to know what causes
Central Nervous System damage besides sarin gas,
depleted uranium, etc … count this chemical in.
It is also a teratogen, causing harm to the
developing child. It targets the testes, and can
cause some men, with too much exposure to become
sterile.
When there are too many immature red blood cells,
other tests such as WBC and liver can be off. They
do not ‘read’ right.
Chad Pagel of Indiana is now 160% disabled. He was
a Marine in the first gulf war & was exposed
to 2-butoxyethanol in the gun
cleaner he used … causing his defatted skin
on his upper thighs… also in the jet
fuel that he burned the outhouse stuff with.

He is having CNS damage & he committed himself
to a VA Psychiatric institution this last
Christmas Eve day. He has been told since then
that he is having bone marrow and liver problems. www.valdezlink.com/chad.htm
Here
is a photo of Chad of Indiana, and his 2 boys
