I have read all your letters that are posted on this Gulf War Syndrome Discussion Forum and I haven't noticed any of you saying that you had swollen organs/glands.  Some of the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup workers are reporting swollen pancreas, spleen, *  gall bladder, liver, testicles.  When they are surgically removed, some do not survive the surgery  (weakened immune systems, too?)

Swollen organs and any of these?  *

Do you want to know more about

the Workers of the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup?   *

Do you recognize any of their symptoms, as yours?  *

And vice versa!

Today (10/17/03) I spoke to a mother of a worker that shared her son collapsed and it was thought to be a heart attack; she was nearby and knew whom to call for help.  He was medivaced to Anchorage and the diagnosis was that his system was choking itself & shutting down.  He survived, but she shared there were about 5 others that didn't get help in time, and they died.  She said it was the July/August time of 1989,  SO that is when Corexit and other chemicals were being 'tried'  Such an unnecessary disaster.  In trying to make things better, EPA and EXXON made them much worse, and they continue to allow these products to be sold today.  I wonder how much they've earned by selling these? Starting in 1989  It was an experiment!

This same woman shared with me that she has lived in Valdez, Alaska for 34 years of her life; and that at that time they also incinerated some of the disposables in the Alyeska Terminal incinerator.  (And there were 2 incinerators side by side at the Dayville Dump) You could notice a new haze in the air that wasn't there before.  She said that for a small community, mostly 4,000 long term residents, the percentage of cancers are way too high:  prostate, brain, pancreatic, lung, etc.
This is not being studied by the State of Alaska Health Dept as far as I know, but she said a lot of these people were her friends.
